A rectangular tray with high flared-up edges. Decorated in the refined Wajima-nuri style – one of the popular maki-e styles, developed in Wajima, Ishikawa province. It uses black and gold lacquer and applique with various foils (gold, silver, copper alloys). The maki-e decoration depicts yaemugura - a cleavers plant (Galium Aparine), which is considered one of the summer symbols.
