Annotation
This low hat with a small brim belongs to the oldest type of Chugach hat. The hats dating from the first half of the 19th Century were taller and had wider brims, as a rule, around 40 centimeters in diameter. The front part of the crown is decorated with the head of a killer whale or a sea lion. On the opposite there is an anthropomorphic mask that symbolized his soul.
