The majority of throwing boards from Kodiak in the Museum collection with the exception of No. 2867—32 and 2888—30, -75 have carved stylized otters laying on their backs on top the water. The bas-relief figures of otters are depicted with their heads and front paws. More realistic otter figures are carved on throwing boards No. 2868—10, -115, and –116.
