Annotation
This is a model of the “classic” kayak from the Eskimos of Kodiak Island. The nose of the kayak represents a stylized head of a sea animal with its jaws open. If you look at the model kayak from above its stern has an extended triangular shape. These specific elements of construction make it easy to distinguish Alutiiq kayaks from those of the Aleuts.
