Most likely this bow belongs to a set including quiver No. 593—86 and arrows Nos. 2913—21, --22/a—b, --23/a—b, --24, --25/a—b.
The Katmai bows in the Museum collection are of the reinforced type because their shafts are reinforced on the back side with wrapped sinew and bone or wooden brackets. This bow is reinforced with a piece of bone in the middle of the shaft and with braided sinew, bow No. 2913—20 with braided sinew the entire length of the shaft, and bow No. 2930—70 with wooden brackets at the bend of the shaft along with braided sinew. Bows No. 593—64 and No. 2913—20 are similar in form to those of the Chugach.
