From its drawings, color scale, ornamentation consisting of clusters of beads (with dentalia shells included here and there) and feathers this is a “classic” Kodiak Alutiiq hat. On its crown is painted the head of an animal with rounded ears. It is possible that this is a depiction of a bear.
