Description
Officer Yevgeny Vsevolodovich Senigov went to Abyssinia in 1898 as member of the Russian military mission. In 1901, he entered the service of the Ethiopian emperor Menelik II as the head of the right wing of the army of th governor of the southernmost province of Ethiopia, Kaffa. Senigov was fascinated by Ethiopia, married an Ethiopian girl, conveyed his impressions of the surrounding life, people in diaries and watercolors. Thet are available online.
